West Midlands Police launched a ground breaking scheme this week aimed at targeting “close pass” motorists who endanger cyclists.
Police pedallers will radio the details of close-pass drivers for in-car colleagues to intercept at a designated holding point. They will then be given some roadside advice while repeat offenders can be expected to be prosecuted and taken to court.
The force has received praise from cycle groups and other organisations as word spread online.
LBC Breakfast host Nick Ferrari interviewed James and questioned whether the move was biased against motorists, arguing that there were also dangerous cyclists on the roads.
